U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) is adding a number of upgrades to prototype versions of Boeing's A160T Hummingbird UAV, Defense News reports.
SOCOM is now testing seven prototypes purchased in 2005.
Upgrade plans include equipping the unmanned aircraft with Hellfire missiles, strengthening its skin and adding redundant flight controls, said Army Maj. Scott Beal, the SOCOM Hummingbird program manager.
