Defense Ministry Stephen Smith is about to unveil a significant restructuring of the Australian Dept. of Defense aimed at improving procurement performance and maintenance of equipment, reports the Australian.
The newspaper said the minister is considering appointing two civilian associate secretaries to ensure the purchasing and maintenance of major equipment is handled in the fashion of a civilian corporation.
