U.S. Navy officials have confirmed that a guided-missile destroyer was damaged after a missile exploded during an exercise in the Atlantic Ocean, reports USNI News.
No injuries were reported.
USS The Sullivans destroyer was conducting a planned missile exercise off the coast of Virginia Saturday when a SM-2 test missile exploded after suffering a malfunction, said Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
