North Korea has test-launched a suspected submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) into the Sea of Japan, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
On Wednesday, the missile, believed to be of the Pukguksong type, was fired from North Korea's east coast near Wonsan, said the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The weapon flew about 280 miles (450 km) at a maximum altitude of 565 miles (910 km), indicating that it was launched at a high angle, the JCS said.
