The Indian government has named a replacement for army chief Gen. Deepak Kapoor, who is scheduled to retire at the end of March, reports the Press Trust of India.
Lt. Gen. V.K. Singh, currently the Eastern Army commander, was approved for the top army post after a review by the Cabinet committee on appointments.
