Egyptian troops have thwarted a suicide car bomb attack on an army outpost, reports Agence France-Presse.
A vehicle equipped with explosives was destroyed while trying to hit an outpost on a highway between Cairo and the canal city of Suez, said a military spokesman on Wednesday.
The driver was said to have been killed. No other details were made available. The spokesman made his report on his Facebook page.
