On July 22, 2026, Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky announced that its Nomad 100 unmanned aerial system successfully completed initial ground and flight testing under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Early Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) Aircraft Demonstration (EVADE) program.

Powered by Sikorsky's MATRIX autonomous technology, the Nomad 100 is a high-speed VTOL aircraft. Its twin prop-rotor design allows it to launch without a runway and work directly alongside crewed and uncrewed aircraft.
