Sikorsky Helicopters To Be Used In SAR Role

The Japanese Defense Ministry has chosen Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) to supply a new fleet of Sikorsky search-and-rescue helicopters to the Air Self-Defense Force, reports Sikorsky.
The project calls for new 40 UH-60J helicopters to be built by MHI under license from Connecticut-based Sikorsky to replace 40 older models that have been in service since 1991.
