Siege Ends As Military Retakes Army Base From Taliban

Pakistani commandos stormed a building within the army headquarters compound on Sunday, rescuing more than a score of hostages and capturing the leader of the militant band that had penetrated the base, reported the Financial Times (U.K.).

Insurgents dressed as soldiers raided a base at midday Saturday in Rawalpindi, close to the capital, killing several soldiers, the Guardian (U.K.) reports.
