Shots were fired as Thai troops and hundreds of protesters clashed Wednesday in the streets of Bangkok, the BBC reports.
The Red Shirt protesters were reportedly heading to a rally when stopped at a barricade in the northern part of the capital. Troops fired warning shots into the air.
Other reports indicated that shots were fired directly at the protesters, reported the Press Association (U.K.). Dozens of injuries have been reported.
