Short-Range Missile Tested Last Week, Say Officials From South

North Korea test-fired a short-range missile last week off its west coast, Agence France-Presse reports.

The initial reports came from South Korean military officials to domestic media.

A KN-06 missile was fired into the Yellow Sea in the middle of last week, a South Korean intelligence official said. It has a reported range of up to 68 miles.

The launch seemed to be a test to improve the missile range, said the official.
