The Philippine navy has sent two ships to the Middle East to evacuate Philippine citizens in the midst of rising regional tensions, reports ABS-CBN News (Philippines).
On Tuesday, the amphibious ship Davao del Sur and patrol ship Ramon Alcaraz left Manila following a ceremony led by President Rodrigo Duterte.
The ships are expected to reach Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 25 days, said a navy spokeswoman. The combined force can provide for about 700 evacuees plus the company of sailors...
