Philippines—Ships Headed To Middle East To Rescue Citizens Trapped By Rising Tensions

The Philippine navy has sent two ships to the Middle East to evacuate Philippine citizens in the midst of rising regional tensions, reports ABS-CBN News (Philippines).  On Tuesday, the amphibious ship Davao del Sur and patrol ship Ramon Alcaraz left Manila following a ceremony led by President Rodrigo Duterte.  The ships are expected to reach Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 25 days, said a navy spokeswoman.
