A Russian shipbuilding official says construction of Moscow's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier should be finished by 2023, RIA Novosti reports.
Design will begin in 2016, with five years of construction slated to begin in 2018, said the head of Russia's United Shipbuilding Corp. on Thursday.
The Russian navy has one conventionally powered aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov.
