Austal USA has laid the keel for another littoral combat ship, reports the Mobile, Ala.-based shipbuilder.
The milestone ceremony for the Manchester (LCS-14) was held June 29 at Austal's shipyard in Mobile.
The vessel is the fifth Independence-class littoral ship ordered under a 2010 block buy with the U.S. Navy.
