The South Korean military is reviewing its defense reform program in light of the sinking of the Cheonan late last month, reports the Korea Times.
The Defense Reform 2020 initiative, made public in 2005, calls for reducing troop strength and introducing high-tech weapon systems. The idea was to become a regional military power, not just defend against North Korea.
