Ship With Helicopters Bound For Syria Reverses Course

A Russian cargo ship that was carrying attack helicopters for the Syrian government has turned back to Russia, reports the Washington Post.

The merchant vessel Alaed reportedly reversed course earlier this week after its London-based insurance carrier canceled its coverage.

The Curacao-flagged ship, which had about a dozen Mi-25 helicopters on board, was in the North Sea near Scotland at the time, said U.S. and U.K. officials.
