Shining Path Leader Nabbed In Onetime Stronghold

The president of Peru says the Shining Path rebel group has been defeated in its former center of cocaine production.
Security forces last week captured a regional leader of the group in the Upper Huallaga Valley, reports Andean Air Mail & Peruvian Times.
With the capture of Jaime Arenas Caviedes, alias Braulio, the rebel group has been "totally defeated" in its onetime stronghold, said President Ollanta Humala.
