Shi'ite Political Leader Launches Protest Against U.S. Troop Presence

Thousands of Iraqis have demonstrated in Baghdad calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar).
On Friday, Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called on supporters to march against the presence of U.S. troops in the country.
Thousands attended but numbers dissipated after a few hours, reported Reuters.
Some attendees joined anti-government protests, which have been ongoing since October.
