Shi'ite Pilgrims Targeted In Coordinated Car Bombings

A wave of car bombings has killed at least 56 Shi'ite pilgrims in four Iraqi cities, reports the Los Angeles Times. Dozens of others were wounded.
Multiple attacks took place Wednesday during an annual pilgrimage to the al-Kadhim shrine, said security officials.
A procession in the northern Baghdad neighborhood of Taji was the first hit, at around 5 a.m. local time, police said. Three more bombings reportedly hit the capital within hours.
