President Dmitry Medvedev has shuffled the leadership of the Russian army, reports Interfax-AVN.
Under changes announced last week, Col. Gen. Valery Gerasimov has been named the head of the Central Military District. Previously, he served as the deputy chief of the General Staff.
Col. Gen. Alexander Postnikov replaces Gerasimov, leaving his post as the commander of the Russian army.
