Australia wants to buy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems from the U.S., the Defense Security Cooperation Agency in Washington has informed the U.S. Congress.
The potential sale, worth US$218 million, covers two RQ-7B Shadow 200 systems, communication equipment including four ground control stations and associated spare and repair parts and logistic support.
The UAVs are needed to boost Australia's capabilities in Afghanistan.
