Internal security officials in Russia say they thwarted a series of suicide attacks in Moscow last month, Reuters reports.
Five militants trained for suicide bombings were discovered and stopped by Russian law enforcement, said Alexander Bortnikov, the head of the FSB, the successor to the KGB.
One man was planning to attack during a public holiday on Sept. 5, when the streets would be especially crowded, Bortnikov told Russian media.
