A string of car bombings in and around Baghdad killed at least eight people on Tuesday, CNN reports.

An Iraqi army brigadier general was killed when a bomb attached to his car exploded in northwestern Baghdad's Kadhumiya neighborhood, Interior Ministry officials said.

In the Hurriya neighborhood in northwestern Baghdad, a car bomb killed one civilian and wounded two others.
