Because of a bureaucratic snag, a dozen Indian officers have been dropped from a planned joint exercise with the United States, reports the Calcutta Telegraph.
The officers -- eight from the navy, three from the army and one from the air force -- had spent the last 10 days preparing for the drills in New Delhi.
The requisite permissions were not approved in time, preventing the officers from heading to Okinawa, Japan, for the training, according to an unnamed Defense Ministry...
