The South Korean government is looking to upgrade the firepower of the warheads on its ballistic missiles, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
An increase from 1,100 pounds (500 kg ) to 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg) is necessary to counter growing threats from North Korea, said unnamed sources.
South Korea is operating under restrictions set with the U.S. in 2012, noted CNBC.
