Senior Official Pushes For More Realistic Training, New Facilities

Fan Changlong, the vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, has called for improvements to military training, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Drills should focus on realistic combat scenarios to improve the army's capabilities, Fan said during a recent inspection tour in Gansu, Xinjiang and Ningxia provinces in northwestern China.
The standards should be strict and challenging, he said. Issues uncovered in previous exercises should be addressed. ...
