The U.S. Senate is set to vote on legislation to bolster domestic semiconductor manufacturing in response to a global shortage and supply chain disruptions that have affected numerous industries, reports Bloomberg News.
Majority leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.) set a procedural vote for Tuesday.
The bill is a scaled-down version of a larger package intended to improve U.S. competitiveness with China in technology and advanced manufacturing that has stalled.
