Senate Goes Along With Improved Financing Package For Gripen Fighters

The Brazilian Senate has approved a renegotiated financing agreement with Sweden for the purchase of 36 Gripen NG fighter jets, reports Flight International.
The Senate authorized the US$4.6 billion loan from Swedish export credit agency SEK at the reduced interest rate of 2.19 percent. Another $245 million loan for weapons was also approved, according to Brazilian Defense Ministry release on Aug. 6.
