Security Forces Break Up Potential Plots In Dagestan

Security forces in the Russian North Caucasus republic of Dagestan say they have thwarted bombing plots set for New Year's Eve, Interfax-AVN reports.

Two groups of militants were "crushed" in separate operations on Sunday, officials said.

One group, based in the Dagestani capital of Makhachkala, was raided by special operations and Federal Security Service (FSB) personnel, according to the Russian Interior Ministry.
