Security Council Presses Kabila To Join Operation Against Rwandan Rebels

The U.N. Security Council has called on the president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to quickly approve plans for a joint operation against Rwandan militants in the eastern part of the DRC, reports the U.N. News Service.
The deadline for the surrender of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) passed on Jan. 2, and there have been no significant surrenders of combatants, the council said in a statement on Thursday.
