The mandate for the U.N. Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has been extended for six months by the Security Council, reports the U.N. News Service.
After the resolution was adopted Thursday, the new mandate will run through March 15, 2016.
The Security Council called for an "immediate and unconditional" cease-fire in Libya, which has suffered from factional fighting since 2011.
