Security Council Extends Peacekeeping Mission For Another Year

The U.N. Security Council has extended the mandate for the peacekeeping mission in Ivory Coast (UNOCI) for another 12 months, reports the U.N. News Service.
The resolution, unanimously adopted on Thursday, maintains the mission's focus on the protection of civilians, political support and on the implementation of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration program.
