Security Council Again Extends Golan Heights Mission

The Security Council has extended the mandate of the U.N. observer force in the Golan Heights, reports the U.N. News Service.

Established in May 1974, the U.N. mission is responsible for monitoring the cease-fire in the region between Israel and Syria.

The extended mandate lasts through June 30, 2011.
