U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived Tuesday at the Gaza Strip, the Voice of America News reports.
The secretary-general is expected to view damaged U.N. facilities and inspect the damage caused by the 22-day conflict between Hamas and Israel, said U.N. officials.
Ban met Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert before traveling to the Gaza Strip.
Ban is also due to travel to southern Israel, which has been targeted by Hamas rockets, the officials said.
