The U.S. Navy's Gerald R. Ford carrier is about to begin sea trials, reports USNI News.
The carrier, the first of the class, is scheduled to leave a Huntington Ingalls shipyard in Newport News, Va., for its first set of builder trials, Vice Adm. Tom Moore, the commander of Naval Sea Systems Command, said.
He made his comments on Monday at the Navy League Sea Air Space 2017 conference in National Harbor, Md.
