Sea Trials Of Gerald R. Ford Carrier Face Delay Of Up To 2 Months

The U.S. Navy says that the sea trials for its newest aircraft carrier are to be postponed for several weeks, reports the Daily Press (Newport News, Va.).

Testing of shipboard systems on the Gerald R. Ford are taking longer than expected, forcing the delay, said a release on Tuesday from the office of Sean Stackley, the assistant Navy secretary for research, development and acquisition.

Accordingly, the sea trial schedule will be pushed back by six to eight weeks.
