Lockheed Martin announced that its Scorpion unpowered, lightweight, compact munition has passed a flight test at Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz.
The munition was launched from a C-130 aircraft at an altitude of 5,000 feet (1,500 m) through a common launch tube.
The Scorpion successfully deployed its fins and wing, enabling it to guide precisely 1.65 nm (1.9 mi, 3.1 km) to the target, according to company officials.
