Scores Of M23 Rebels, Breaking Demobilization Deal, Arrested On Way Back To DRC

Government authorities in Uganda have arrested more than 100 former M23 rebels who were reportedly attempting to return to neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo, reports CBC News.

Former M23 fighters have been in Ugandan camps for years after their defeat in 2013.

Some members of the group "have been quietly escaping into the general public" in disguise, said a government spokesman on Thursday. This breaks their deal to demobilize, noted Reuters.
