Scientist Arrested On Espionage Charges

A top space researcher who has worked for the White House, Pentagon, Dept. of Energy and NASA was arrested Monday by the FBI and charged with attempted espionage for Israel, Agence France-Presse reports.

Stewart Nozette, 52, was caught in an FBI sting operation in Chevy Chase, Md., said Justice Dept. officials.

Nozette attempted to sell classified information to a person he believed was an Israeli intelligence officer, authorities said.
