The Pakistani Taliban destroyed four schools in the town of Mingora in the northwestern Swat region on Monday, Reuters reports.
"Militants blew up two girls' schools and two boys' schools," said a government official.
The attacks came hours after a Cabinet minister vowed that the government would reopen schools in the Taliban-controlled region.
The schools were closed for winter break and no one was injured in the explosions, said the official.
