School Destroyed, Villagers Attacked In Southern Attack

Police say two people have been killed by suspected Muslim militants in southern Thailand, reports the Bangkok Post.
Seven villagers were drinking tea near a school Thursday in the Sungai Padi district in the Narathiwat province when a group of gunmen opened fire with AK-47 assault rifles, witnesses said.
Two people died at the scene and three village defense volunteers were seriously wounded in the attack, said police.
The school was also burned down.
