A local government in southern China has revealed plans to further develop islands in the disputed South China Sea, reports the South China Morning Post.
On March 15, the Communist Party secretary of the city of Sansha on Woody Island in the Paracel chain led a meeting aimed at establishing an "island city" in the region on the islands of Woody, Tree and Drummond, to according the city government's website.
