India's coast guard has commissioned its largest offshore patrol vessel, reports the Press Trust of India.
The 2,450-metric-ton vessel was commissioned as Samarth on Tuesday. The ceremony was led by Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar in Vasco Da Gama in Goa state in western India.
Samarth is the first of six 105-meter offshore patrol vessels being built by Goa Shipyard.
She will be based in Goa and used to patrol India's exclusive economic zone, primarily on the region.
