A significant increase in sorties by the North Korean air force has been noted since mid-May, reports the Yonhap News Agency (South Korea).
South Korea has tracked as many as 50 sorties in a single day, with two to three approaching close to the tactical action line, said a military source.
The line is an imaginary boundary that runs 12 miles to 31 miles (20 km to 50 km) north of South Korea's airspace that is used to gauge potential incursions.
