S. Korea Offers Conventional Subs To Bridge Anticipated Capability Gap

South Korean defense officials met with their Australian counterparts to discuss strengthening cooperation, including conventional submarines to bridge the gap between its aging Collins-class boats and planned nuclear-powered subs, reports Breaking Defense.

The Collins class is expected to operate safely until 2030. However, experts believe it could take until 2040 for Australia to field its planned nuclear boats.
