Russians Expected To Modernize Cam Ranh

The Vietnamese government plans to invite Russia to help modernize its naval base at Cam Ranh Bay, the Voice of Russia reports.

The upgraded base will be able to accommodate foreign and domestic military and civilian ships, said Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh.

When modernized, the base will act as a logistical support facility that can provide minor and medium ship repairs, said Thanh, as cited by RIA Novosti.
