A Russian destroyer will visit a former U.S. naval base in Panama as a part of its Caribbean tour, RIA Novosti reports.
The ship will transit the Panama Canal, the first Russian ship to do so since World War II, according to the Russian navy.
The Admiral Chabanenko is scheduled to arrive at the Rodman Naval Station on Dec. 5 and remain through Dec. 10, a Russian navy spokesman said.
