A Russian shipping company says pirates have attacked one of its tankers off the coast of Nigeria, injuring one crew member, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the captain of the NS Spirit, about 10 armed men boarded the vessel late Sunday and opened fire, said the ship's owner, Novoship.
The attack was reported about 30 nm from Lagos, where the boat was anchored.
The pirates then fled, said the captain.
The wounded crew member was evacuated, said the company.
