Russian Role Seen In European Missile Defense System

NATO foreign ministers have agreed to invite Russia to participate in a planned European missile defense system, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
The shield would be more effective if Russia were involved, said Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen after ministerial talks in Tallinn, Estonia.
Such a system would not be directed against Russia and would help protect its population, said Rasmussen.
