A helicopter has crashed in central Libya killing four Russian mercenaries, according to the Libyan army, as cited by the Anadolu Agency (Ankara).
The helicopter was carrying ammunition when it went down near the city of Al Jufrah, a military spokesman told the news agency on Wednesday.
Initial reports indicated that the aircraft exploded, killing four Russians working for the Wagner Group private military company, which has ties to the Russian government, the spokesman said.
